My armor is almost complete. I just have to fix the chest plate, which fell off about 10 seconds after these pictures were taken and broke clean in half.

I had plans to go downstairs and work on my armor. But they are much more important.

Sometimes things just come together serendipitously, like how this band I wove in 2021 is the perfect trim for my Mando cape.

Two new awesome blades for my Mando future. So excited to work on these.

Spring is coming.

I mean, when there are no eggs to buy I guess that could count as bringing the price down, since I’m spending $0 on eggs?? But then I also have no eggs, which doesn’t feel like a win.

At least it’s organized?

I need the weather to warm up so I can start to work on these.

Left is the scout droid sheep I printed up at 60%. Right is the scout droid shell I’m printing up at “how small can I make it without compromising structure.” Between is my 6 inch sewing ruler.Loving the little mini droid 🥰. But it is quite thin, I have to be careful not to crack it.

It’s beginning to look a lot like droid time.

Oh my stars, I think it actually worked!

…(2/2) and there’s no going back in the print. No!!! But the shell is all walls, so I decided to try cutting the shell just below where it stopped printing and just printing up the missing piece. I’m hoping I can trim/glue the missing piece on and salvage the rest of the 6 hour print. Wish me luck!

I’m deep into prop making this weekend. It’s much too cold to be working on my armor pieces. Two data pads and a couple of greeblies.

Taking a closer look at the second seeing of this while it’s backwards, and I think they did make it binocs. It’s hard to see, but there’s a second eye cup on the far side from the visible one, angled correctly to fit the face. Which makes way more sense for this type of item.

It’s here!! Kodak XL33, soon to be a nearly screen accurate viewer (this one isn’t really binocs since it’s a single lens…monoc maybe?)
January 14, 2025 at 3:54 AM
While I wait for my X33 to arrive (come on USPS deliver early today!!) I have some updates from kit work this weekend. On Sanding Sunday I got the first pass at weathering done on my commando blaster.

This prop is seen twice, briefly each time, but the second time dude looking through it backwards 😂. So we never ever get to see the left side of this thing! I guess they hoped no one would notice?
January 11, 2025 at 6:35 PM
Doesn’t look like I need to do too much physical modification to the X33, mostly just additions and covering brand marks.

My newest project is going to be this viewer from The Mandalorian S1E1. The base is an old Kodak X33 8mm movie camera, and I’ve already ordered one. I am a fan of Star Wars props made from old cameras.

Don’t worry, the one I ordered is parts quality, not functioning.
