There is/was a CPD copter (blue with stripes) circling lower RP/Edgewater about an hour ago. I flagged it for the helicopter spotters but it definitely wasn't a DHS copter.

I wish more young people understood this v. important info. abt their future when they balk at learning things they think aren't "worth it." Nearly everyone I know who works a knowledge-economy job has changed careers/pivoted. Interests or industry change, & foundational ed helps keep you nimble

Ooo, but you can put a cookie between the top of the vertebra and the cup, so it might be genius design 😉

This is so spot on! There can be value in timed testing, but most instructors don't know learning design principles well enough to make informed decisions. Considering the use is paramount, esp. if you see a huge uptick in your students asking for an accommodation.

I was so pissed @ that article, b/c it slapped my whole job in the face, but you're totally right. The article could have said "so what if more students get extra time on timed exams, seeing as they're antiquated assessment tools that lots of profs don't use anymore" & spun up just as many people

is complicated, & if @rosehorowitch.bsky.social had consulted an instructional designer with a background in UDL they could have provided a rebuttal to all the professors whining about accommodations for antiquated testing methods.

the learning objectives tied to a course. It's called alignment & is a cornerstone of good pedagogy. Further, exams are not indicative of "real world" situations, especially objective-based & timed, blue-book-style exams where most accommodations come up. Providing equity in these conditions /2

As an instructional designer working in higher ed, I have so many problems with this article, but THIS PART infuriated me. While "focusing" may be a soft skill students should improve on while in college/uni, exams should only assess whether a student has gained the knowledge necessary to fulfill /1

So if someone didn't vote for who you wanted them to, it's OK to ignore laws, round them up, & terrorize the broader community? That's fascism. & some of those people you're gleefully posting should be disappeared can't vote, so who cares about them, either, I guess? Think about what you're posting

Hundreds of my neighbors have been disappeared by ICE, so I can say with 100% certainty that joyfully asking for a group of people to be rounded up--no matter their political affiliation--is some fascist shit. Those are human beings you want illegally detained, not monsters.

Hi Darth,

When you asked this 2 months ago I replied I was working on a cookbook. It's now out—the PDF is FREE & print copies raise money for a food security & sovereignty charity. With 1 week to 🇺🇸 Thanksgiving it would mean so much if you'd be willing to share it! 🙏💜

My neighbor (I'm in Chicago) made a bunch of these, and I can personally attest that the 3-D printed whistles are indeed so.loud. You can hear them blocks away. Thanks for sending whistles out to the Charlotte community!

Hi! I live in Rogers Park and would very much love to staple gun/paste these on every pole in my neighborhood. Could we figure out a print cost/pick up situation? 😍

Oooo, I want one of these! Are you going to be handing them out/selling them? (I'm in Chicago)
