They really need room for you to write additional info. Because they're like, "Does being depressed keep you from doing your job?" and I'm like, "No? Because I'm far too anxious and feel too guilty if I don't." The only thing that saved me for years was that I kept moving between school and jobs.

A lot of those same people complain that BlueSky "has no chill" and that they have to go back to Twitter to find people to joke around with. It all effectively translates to "I think being an asshole is funny, but no one here finds humor in it so they won't interact with me".

There is that, and I think that in the beginning, there's a pretty solid argument that they didn't. It's more that humanity rubbed off on them.

I think the big mistake people make with The Doctor is assuming he's "good" when he has to spend time around people who course correct him. It's like the bit from FFXIV where one character tells another that had he not had friends and teachers to correct him, he could have been like the villain.

I think punk music and genre fiction have this problem in common, where bigots of various stripes think, "This is made for us, it's ours," and the creatives have to come out and kick them in the teeth. You can't always be subtle while reminding assholes that they're not actually welcome.

The discussions about Doctor Who being too blunt or too preachy with the new episodes remind me of when people complained that Anti-Flag's song "Racists" wasn't subtle enough, and it was pointed out that they'd tried being subtle, and the people who needed to get it just weren't getting it.

I'm not reliant on spreadsheets for what I do, but I do use word processors. I switched to Libre Office years ago. It's open source, so no charge. As far as I'm aware, there's no AI in it natively, although people have been making mods.
