What a phenomenal movie. Talk about being swept away - not only was this beautifully choreographed with a stellar OST, but a fascinating decent into madness by a grieving man who feels like a failure, only trying to fix it all by making right by his family.

The Shrouds (2035) 2.5/5
Beautiful soundtrack and excellent concept. For a Cronenberg, I personally expect more depth and emotion, coupled with grotesque beauty. This one didn’t quite do that for me.

Rich and alluring story drenched in history and adorned with immense talent and an insane soundtrack. Haven’t clapped at the end of a movie in awhile, but this one was definitely worth it. Stay until the VERY end!

Some pretty funny bits, killer casting and (truly) unlikable characters I loved to hate. The CGI left some to be desired, but the action scenes were pretty neat.

I was hooked in the first 5 minutes! Bloody hilarious, and hilariously bloody!! Verrrry well-crafted horror flick and absolutely loved the dread, the humor, and the deaths. Anxiously awaiting the next from Perkins!

A fun ride! More (ironic) comedy than I was expecting, less brutal than I was looking forward to, but still had me drawn in for the entire watch! The lead “couple” were likable and had a lot of chemistry, but I’d still like to have seen more kinky love kills.

Not our usual genre, but I enjoyed it! Painted a new picture of the folk music scene and felt politically familiar to some things we’re going through today. Chalamet did an uncanny Dylan & Barbaro had a lovely birdsong quality to her voice, like Baez.

By far the best theater movie I’ve seen this year so far. I went into this blind (as I try to do with horror movies) and was mesmerized start to finish. It’s so refreshing to have a new take on a ghost story, and this new perspective was absolutely beautiful.
