✨ Are you in Australia and do you like being able to see the sky at night?

The Australasian Dark Sky Alliance have submitted a petition to request parliament introduce legislation to control light pollution.

The petition is at www.aph.gov.au/e-petitions/...

If you plan to participate in this tutorial, you should install siril and download the image data that I have linked from the session page. It is 4GB of data and you will not be able to fetch it at the conference.

It would also be helpful if your laptop had an SSD with at least 30GB of free space.
Everything Open 2025 program is now published.

Workshop “Using siril to see the invisible” by Peter Lieverdink

Program: 2025.everythingopen.au/schedule/
Tickets: 2025.everythingopen.au/attend/ticke...

Looks like the European Southern Observatory are looking for science cases to start designing The Oppressively Colossal Telescope.

This nebula has been on my want-to-photograph list for a long time, I think it’s very pretty with its dark swirls.

Like many nebulae in Orion, it is a star forming region with bright blue young stars enshrouded in dark dust.

I woke up at 4:30am and so decided to wander up the road a bit and catch #comet 2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS.

It is definitely a naked eye object, tail and all. Very pretty!
