Eagles receiver AJ Brown was spotted reading an advance copy of MOMO ARASHIMA DUELS THE QUEEN OF DEATH! Here he is telling QB Jalen Hurts, "Momo is so relatable, tho!"

Please enjoy these candid, spontaneous, not at all staged photos of me unboxing MOMO ARASHIMA DUELS THE QUEEN OF DEATH (isn't she gorgeous, though?). T - 18 days to launch!

MOMO is full of fun, adventure, friendship, and shenanigans, but it’s also about whose stories get told, whose stories get erased and forgotten, and why. It’s about anger and justice, about reclaiming power & identity.

Keep fighting to preserve kids’ right to read, learn, feel safe, and feel seen.

The fire alarm unexpectedly went off just as I began my presentation at Christa McAuliffe School yesterday but the kids were very chill and amazing and I had the best time!

Trump's DoE is dismissing challenges to school book bans, calling them "meritless" since the bans are instituted by parents who are "working to protect students from obscene content."

This is mostly for the targets of bigoted remarks--the marginalized person in the conversation. As allies it is part of our job to educate. But it can be exhausting for all of us. 8/10

My bad, this is 6/10. My husband is great at remembering and calmly laying out facts. He once convinced his anti-masking seatmate on a flight to put on a mask. He made an "I'm Irish, we were slaves too and now look at us!" person admit that maybe she had overlooked a few crucial facts.

Have you ever had an argument with a teenager? 4/10

As allies, we have to learn to be okay with uncomfortable conversations.

Our goal is simply to be heard—think of Bishop Bubbe and the Trump/Vance family's faces. She did not convince a single one of their wrongness. But they heard her, and so did everyone else.

These cause the speaker to consider the impact of their remark, or to reconsider why they said what they said.

These pause the conversation and gently but firmly call attention to the remark itself.

I have a feeling that Bishop Budde knows how to show up as an ally even when she's not reading prepared remarks.

In that spirit, here's something I made a few years ago for marginalized folks and allies so we can speak up in our daily lives, in real time. 1/10

I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself. 😂

Also, it's true! The MOMO series explores how erasure and loss can breed rage and resentment; the connections between beauty, popularity, and power; and the hazy line between justice and vengeance.

Anyway, pre-order MOMO ARASHIMA DUELS THE QUEEN OF DEATH!

Readers, this student is now an assistant high school principal who will have a positive impact on the lives of a thousand kids every year. #Representation matters. Empathy matters. Teachers, librarians, and books matter.
