Went to drop-in adult learn-to-macrame at the Eugene Public Library. How can you be a person and not love the library?

Cat loves to sleep on hand seems like a valid excuse for not writing.

We're in a hellscape, but thanks to @gregpak.net, @tombofnull.bsky.social & @greenpeapress.bsky.social, I now have this kickass shirt.

My teen saw this photo and said, "That's tuff. Wow. So tuff." This is like Kirkus star level of teen validation.

GR reviews are none of my biz, but this review of CLOSER is lol perfect. It's the combined incredulity of "I shit you not" & "yet plenty of commas."

My 2-page sentence would've been better wout all the commas? Or they're pissed I know how to use punctuation keys, so why so stingy w periods?

Parenting while Gen X is a
trip bc I was a feral roaming
kid of the 70s & 80s & now I tell my teen things like “you can skip classes if you have all your work done & you let me know before school does” & he sends me texts like this one & it’s so quaint & cute, I can barely stand it.

Name a TV show you only watch in hotels.

Me: Shark Tank

the fake squabbling, the capitalist striving, the mean feedback, the dumb products, the overwrought score, the people referring to themselves unironically as 'sharks'

This kept my son amused & engaged rather than quiet & scared. Anyway, this ridiculous ad came across my FB timeline tonight & obvs it's my dad from beyond the grave. Therefore I paid a stupid amt for a heated, weighted, scented quokka that is now on its way to me. 2/2

I'm teaching a master class on revision in a couple weeks. Wait till they find out this is what I do:

Months ago, I had a revelation re WIP that I can't remember. I spend the day searching for it on Notes app, computer, messy file folders of ideas. Finally found it. No idea what it means.

Publicly calling out our parenting, part 2:

This one’s hard to see. It’s 3rd grade graphing. & Montessori let him pick his topic.

The x axis is anger:
frustrated to pycho. The Y axis: monthly to always.

He’s at daily frustrated. Dads at weekly upset. I’m at weekly mad.

Going through ten years of saved school assignments while my son is at summer camp. A 🧵:

All of Hebrew school (even in a progressive hippie town) boiled down to one assignment.

Here’s why obsessively googling yourself is a good and healthy idea: You come across reviews like this stunner. Huge s/o to @necessaryfiction.com & their commitment to reviewing small press books.
