While I believe the registry does not fully reflect what is happening on Czech roads (I will look at this next time), the length of the network does not entirely describe its capacity either. However, it provides a rough picture. The data comes from the Ministry of Transport.

In the same period, the length of the road and highway network grew by 0.035% annually, with a total increase of just two-thirds of a percent (0.66%).

An alarming trend is the increasing total number of vehicles in the Czech Republic. Over the past 20 years, the registry has grown by more than 2.5 million passenger cars. This represents an annual growth of just under 3% and a total increase of over 70% over two decades.
