Is it finally time to retire the electric heating pad I had since the 90s?

I guess there was a Joseon king who'd host a partay each time he finished a book, which included talking about the book and a lot of heavy drinking.

Freaking myself out by searching for worst case scenarios on the Internet right before bed time because why not.

Both water and the Internet is out at home today for some reason and it's basically like the bronze age in here.

JCrew blazers used to be 100% wool just a few years ago but now they're all polyester blends???

I now fully understand why Chinese food is always accompanied by jasmine tea, I could literally FEEL my food digesting in my stomach.

Hate to be basic but it turns out I do love Le Labo.

I just learned that there are figure drawing sessions near me and I signed up. Thanks, Artist Way for forcing me to go on Artist Dates.

'Tis the season for shopping for cat hanbok.

If there is one thing that ChatGPT is actually really useful for (for my practical day-to-day) is rewording stuff I write for my performance review to sound more corporatese. (Though even that I do have to revise because I can't stand the cringe)

You know when you were super excited about a fragrance because of the name and you try it but it smells nothing like you expected and that's how you know other people experience the same things differently than you?

Why do I even sign up for networking events in the city it's just way too far at the end of the day.

Betty has finally learned how to meow like a cat, rather than just squeak.

Google Photos show me photos from a year ago, which usually are photos of the Matissu, and it's just shocking to me how healthy and lively she looked early last year. I really had no idea she was going to die a few months later. I wasn't given a heads up to prepare myself at all.

Watching the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for the first time for *novel research.*

I added a new, VERY EXPENSIVE skincare item into my morning routine and I hope it performs miracles.

Last dose of Paxlovid taken. Will I test negative tomorrow?
January 10, 2024 at 6:23 PM
Matissu used to be a velcro kitty but she always acted like she was just coincidentally in the same room as me, and not on purpose. Betty is a velcro kitty that always makes it be known that she's here because I'm here and I should stop moving around so much.

Looking up stuff about COVID online and freaking myself out lol
January 8, 2024 at 6:06 PM
COVID is definitely different because with Paxlovid I feel almost 100% now and in any other circumstance I think I'd been like okay, I'm back to work but last night I noticed my Fitbit would show an elevated heart rate when I do something strenuous like... Sit up to read a book.

The game of will I be well enough to work tomorrow or do I take another sick day?
January 8, 2024 at 2:57 AM
One of the things my PCP told me to do to reduce the chance for long COVID was to reduce my exercise by 90% for 2 weeks which is VERY HARD when your baseline activity level is already so abysmally low.
January 7, 2024 at 6:57 PM
I'm wondering now if the cold I had in October was also COVID (though I never tested positive then) because afterwards I had a lingering sinus infection for two months that stuck around even with two courses of antibiotics but I guess that could happen with just a cold too.
