Wanted to boost this again because I can’t recommend all of Alice’s films enough and they all left me smiling from ear to ear. It’s wonderful seeing film from people in the trans community, and those films are not afraid to wear that banner with pride.
I’m very excited to see Alice’s future work.

11. Wonka (2023)

Very pleasantly surprised by this movie. From the trailers, it was easy to assume this would be another dug up IP cash grab. However, the movie has a completely original story and score with the two reused songs being appropriate. Incredibly funny, charming, and whimsical musical.

10. Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia (2008)

I appreciate the new things this game tries to do, but a lot of the maps are not particularly interesting and I have a few gripes here and there. I like it better than DoS for trying new things at least. Shanoa’s abilities are all at least cool.

9. I Saw the TV Glow (2024)

Absolutely love this movie, one of my faves of last year for sure. The trans allegory hits incredibly hard. The tv show in the movie is also given so much love. There’s so many good things I can say about this masterpiece, but please watch if you haven’t.

9. T Blockers (2023)

This is one of those movies where I did not think the plot or structure was very strong, but I adored it and immediately bought the blu ray. The lighting, music, and characters are unabashedly queer, and the very unsubtle commentary is enjoyable. Trans lives are human lives.

8. Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin (2006)

This may not be the best Iga-vania (that’s AoS), but it’s my favorite by far. The dual system is such a breath of fresh air, and the new sprites for the classic monster bosses are incredibly fun. Very glad to have come back to this one.

7. Hard Candy (2005)

Seeing the big breakout film for Elliot Page for the first time, and I can see why he got big after this. Decent thriller carried completely by the two starring actors.

6. Fatal Attraction (1987)

Man has an affair but it goes a step too far, oh no. A bit too long and didn't catch my interest too much. Has a very good dog though.

Wicked (2024)

It's super nice to see a musical film that isn't afraid to be a musical and engage with the medium. Had a fantastic time and pumped for when part 2 drops.

4. Tokyo Gore Police (2008)

I went in expecting gory action thing and got much more than I expected. Movie feels like someone looked at Robocop and said 'no that's too subtle', but in the best way possible. Very ridiculous and grotesque, but I had lots of fun.

3. Creature Commandos (2024)

James Gunn produces another solid group of comic misfits, and had a lot of fun with this one. Very charming characters and music. Felt a little rushed in the last episode though, could have used one more episode to really nail the landing. Otherwise can't wait for more!

2. Anna and the Apocalypse (2017)

Very fun movie trying to do a lot as a coming of age British zombie horror comedy musical. It doesn’t do any of these individual parts super amazing, but the sum of parts does come together in a very fun way. Definitely a holiday staple.

Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl (2024)
So glad to see my fave British clay duo back, and this movie was tons of fun. Not as cinematic as their last full length movie, but was a very enjoyable sequel to probably their most iconic short with lots of neat callbacks. Big recommend.
