NATO (and the US in particular) already routinely violate Irish sovereignty by shipping weapons and soldiers through civilian Irish airports without the official permission from the Irish government. The Irish government doesn't give a shit because we're already a US puppet state lol.

for the record Ireland was just as poor as the eastern bloc in 1990 (and by this point the GDP figures were *already* overinflated by foreign companies exploiting tax loopholes)

there is a massive amount of public support for taking action on climate change, more than almost anything else. We all know that if anything there's widespread frustration with the lack of action. So our governments and institutions have started to find new excuses for sitting on their hands.
