And he thinks tariffs are not inflationary because as prices go up for some products, people will just buy less of the other stuff, compensating and mitigating inflationary pressures. What an idiot - and he's the Treasury loll.

China exerts greater control over mining operations on the African than Canada, particularly in terms of key minerals like cobalt, lithium, and copper. Canada's position is historical in nature. Your data needs to be adjusted - most Canadian investments are run by a few majors.

Unfortunately it is, but one needs to understands that in many places in Africa, artisanal mining (here they use the term illegal mining - illegal because corrupt governments don't get their hand on it ?) is a way of life, it's part of their culture, the only way they have to earn something.
