Incredible series Ive been playing since the beta of 1. The combat is just so satisfying, and the RPG loop so open-ended and addictive, truly one of the most impressive indie productions ever. The mods for these games are amazing too. Can't sing M&Bs praises enough!

I was disappointed by this one! It had an "Asylum, but aimless, bloated, and poorly paced" feel to me. I found the combat system was quickly getting tired too. Ultimately just made me want to play Asylum again. Probably would've enjoyed it more if I played it before Asylum

Delightfully minimalist game that woke me up to the indie world/early Steam days. Gives me tons of nostalgia for games like AudioSurf, PvZ, and that military green Steam UI. Pure fun and elegant design - and an awesome soundtrack I've spent more time listening to than playing the game

Hell of a game when messing with physics was as thrilling as it was. I was the target audience for this and man was it COOL. Perfect mischievous playbox tone. Still fun, but not as novel, and the remake botched the art style. I want to feel like I'm levelling towns not toy-sets

My introduction to Burnout! Loved the crash mode in its day. That theme music is peak when you're 10 too. 2 feels like a more balanced/skillful racing game than 3, but it has less character. Very solid racer, but not one I'm compelled to go back to
(I'm slowly getting through these lol)

Fantastic game, but I do actually have a hot take - it's my least favourite of the first 4 MGS games. It takes the least risks, is a bit overdesigned, and has the slowest start. But it's in good company! Charming, thoughtful, full of Kojima-isms. He's the man I love him

Ok my "honest" opinion - I never made it past the LONG tutorial. Zelda games generally don't grab me and I wish that wasn't true. They give poor first impressions to me. I'm planning on trying this and other Zelda games again, hopefully they click this time. I want to like them!!

I hear the UNTACO HQ music thinking about it. One of those games that had me fall in love with video games, and made me daydream about what they could be. Dripping with B-movie charm, mystery, and possibility. Amazing game. God Im gonna reinstall it huh that old meme is so real

Between this and 007 Blood Stone Bizarre Creations left their two best games til last? And were shut down for it? Cooked. This game is awesome, surprisingly high skill ceiling but a blast of energy from the moment you start. Cool neon aesthetics, just a romp of a game I'll always go back to

I adored the pre-title-sequence storyline, then that was thrown out. Then I lost interest. Certain sequences dragged a lot, and I never felt true purpose to the writing. Very rule of cool. I loved bits of this, but couldn't love how those bits connected connected, despite trying

My memories of this are VERY old but I found few similar games had the same sense of wonder and discovery that Spyro had. Noodling around with mechanics to find new areas/collectibles was a delight, and the dream-like colour palette gave it all a very whimsical vibe. I should try it again

Represents everything I wish AAA video games did more. It's a fearless and uncompromising pursuit of a feeling and aesthetic. Unlike anything I've ever played, and it's as enjoyable to analyse as it is to play. Just a beautiful and chaotic experience that stays with you

What a first impression. The music, the pace, the feel. Amazing. However, once the difficulty ramps up, the novelty wears, and you pick up on the design tricks/rubber banding, it becomes impossible to recapture the initial feeling. Great game, I just wish I could enjoy it like I used to

I don't at all have a hot take on this. Just a rad platformer that feels amazing to play innit bruv. I wish I could say something original but it's just *that* game huh. Helped define a genre

I have not thought about this in YEARS omg. Give me that flippy stunt driving flash game goodness. This game felt like a step above a lot of the funny little flash stuff you'd find online in the 2000s, definitely a fun time capsule for that era and corner of the internet

I think this was a step up from American Wasteland. Mechanically it's a bit convoluted, but tonally and level/mission-design wise I found it to be a course correction from AW which was an AWkward game. We're definitely post-golden-era TH, but P8 is a bit of fun none-the-less

Similar to Driver 2, it's more of a novelty than it is fun - but it's unbelievable that it's a full open world GTA-like game on GBA, and at (I think) 60fps! Frustrating to play, but it's an incredible technical achievement and I love it for it.

Driver 2's GBA port I played a TON of - I remember being blown away by the visuals way back. Apparently it was mostly only programmed by one guy which is cool! It has surprisingly accurate handling, but is definitely more novel than fun. A bit too jank
