a new friend has recently been introducing me to her (dubious) music taste and i've really been enjoying the opportunity to expand my horizons. this, of course, inspired me to draw my ocs in music subculture related outfits. you understand.

one of my friends said that it would be nice to see erin being competent so i obliged. i think i failed.
erin sits on top of a dead monster, lacerated and leaking blue blood, clutching a knife stained with the stuff. she is covered in cuts and has a nasty looking bruise on her side. ivy stands in the background, holding a sniper rifle and staring in disbelief. surrounding the scene are knives sticking from the ground and one of the monster's limbs cut off. i: ERIN HOLD ON I - holy shit? you're ok??? i: you i: you fucking killed. it??? i: WHAT? e: well, yeah. this was like. a slightly less powerful spirit i think. e: once it lost the arm it really didn't have the composure to really. like. focus? i: oh my god i-i thought you were a fucking goner... ivy turns away, a look of consternation and bafflement on their face, while taking a drag from a cigarette. erin is in the background with a hurt expression on her face. e: w-why? this was kind of basic stuff. d-did you think i was incapable? i: i... yeah, actually. like, really incapable. e: ...what? why would y-you ever think that? i: well i. uh. hm. i: i cant. think. of any examples. but. in a thought bubble below, ivy clearly remembers an example. erin sits across from ivy, eating a small pudding cup. e: hey ives, rememver when w-we were arguing and you pulled my tie? c...could you do that... again...? i: erin i: have you eaten ANYTHING besides that single serving pudding cup today. e (quietly): we don't have to talk about this. i: oh my fucking god...

ivy and zinnia go out for brunch
zinnia and ivy sitting at a table having brunch, a plate of appetizers in front of them. ivy leans over with an inquisitive look on their face, while zinnia has a more neutral expression. z: i have to say ivy - i've had a remarkably good time going out with you so far. see how easy it is to let loose just a little? i: i mean it's been great, but... hm. i: ok, full disclosure - i mostly agreed to this as a pretense to sort of prove to myself you were actually as abusive as i thought. and im still waiting for the other shoe to drop. z: i'm actually pretty capable of holding onto regular relationships, fancy that! i mostly just have one partner i feel i can explore my more sadistic inclinations to. i: so sort of an omelas child kinda deal? z: precisely! a shot from below of erin on her hands and knees, acting as a chair for zinnia. she is visibly shaking, and tilts her head to look upwards. zinnia glances down. e: i mean, i've actually read Those Who Walk Away from Omelas and my view of the text was that it was a refutation of this exact type of situation. i think a better metaphor in this case would be- z: i'm sorry, does furniture speak? z: better.

another comic of my characters, featuring zinnia knowing how to navigate fraught social situations.
erin walks up to zinnia discussing something with two other individuals offscreen, with a sour look on her face. zinnia looks up at her, thinking. zinnia: ah, took you long enough! everyone, this is my partner erin, say h- incidental 1: woah, she's huge. incidental 2: you were right, she is a lot taller than you! erin: ...what the FUCK ever. my first instinct was right, meeting you pricks was a terrible idea. zinnia: hmm. zinnia pulls on erin's necktie, forcing their heads to be around the same elevation. erin, uncomfortable in this situation, looks at zinnia nervously. zinnia: i believe i misspoke previously. erin is actually the shorter one, see? erin: z-zinnia, i'm having a lot of trouble s-standing like this... zinnia: then don't. sfx: TUG erin kneels down next to zinnia, eyes unfocused and face flush red. zinnia holds her tie slack and stares back at the people she was talking to with an intense look in her eyes. zinnia: now, were were discussing a different topic before, were we not? incidental 1: ...uh... incidental 2: I-I JUST REMEMBERED we were discussing the novel i read for book club last week! incidental 1: o-oh yeah haha... zinnia: do tell. erin: (oh my god???)

i didn't really draw or do anything for halloween this year but i still know what's up
erin and ivy are standing together, wearing heavier winter outfits. ivy holds a bag of candy and leans back towards erin. erin has her hands in her pocket and looks away dismissively. erin: ...why are we buying candy now of all times? halloween was days ago. ivy: you don't know? once halloween is over all the stores slash their prices due to wanting to get rid of the now defunct oversupply. ivy: this is like the oldest trick in the book! erin: do you have any idea how... completely unhealthy eating an entire bag of fun sized candy bars is ivy: pretty sure you'd be more familiar, actually. erin: ...get a bag of just reese's. i can't with any other ones. ivy: honestly, i'm glad you're a hypocritical little weirdo.

ivy and erin sit at the table, a bowl of food between them. ivy leans forwards on both hands intently while erin crosses her arms and avoids eye contact. ivy: it's just eggs and rice. we're not leaving here until you eat it. erin: i dont. i dont want to. ivy: god, youre like a fucking child? erin: children dont get to say words like 'fuck'. ivy: maybe ill take away your permission for that if youre so fucking inclined. erin looks away embarassed. ivy changes to a more relaxed and interested position. ivy: wait. that-that didnt turn you on did it??? erin: n-no... ivy: like. rules and shit? schedules? having to call people mistress? erin: IVY. ivy: youre so embarassing that it becomes cute again

its the new event 'erintober' where i post an image of my oc erin for. the first couple days of october before forgetting.
erin and ivy sit at the table next to a constructed lunchables pizza. erin is completely unable to maintain eye contact. ivy is holding the lunchables packaging completely nonplussed. erin: i know lumchables cost like three dollars but theyre enough food to last me a whole day and ivy: erin ivy: it has. 310 calories.
