From Russia With Love poster in that pulp illustration style where a bunch of characters and scenes are collaged together. Sean Connery as Bond stands tall but is too thin and his hair is blacker than his usual toupe. Robert Shaw as Red Grant looks cool and vicious, aka, just right. Daniella Bianchi as Tanya stretches in a blue nightie. Rosa Klebb looks unfairly a little like The Thing from Fantastic Four. Poster for Casino Royale. Daniel Craig, smug in shadow, looks like he's betting his gun at a poker table. Don't do it! At least not in the first rounds. The poster for Live And Let Die, illustrated style. One of the coolest Bond posters actually. Characters fanned out as tarot cards. Roger Moire in the centre as Bond looks great. Solitaire looks nothing like Jayne Seymour but they sure got the croc from farm scene right. Poster from Thunderball, painted in 3 vignette. 1 says Look Up! and it's Sean Connery's Bond in his jet pack. Points deducted for his helmet-less hair looking perfectly coiffed. 2 says Look Down! and it's the underwater scuba fight everyone complains is too long. Is it? Yes. I'd still rather watch this than No Time To Die. 3 says Look Out! And it's Bond in his wetsuit surrounded by Bond Girls Domino, Paula, Fiona, and I guess that's supposed to be Patricia but who are they kidding?

Watching the Neneh Cherry Buffalo Stance video again has me wishing #SNL would do a Behind The Video skit with Ego Nwodim and Sarah Sherman as the back up dancers.
Two female back up dancers, (if you can call them that) from the Buffalo Stance video. They're in black and white with an early days computer background of, I think, orange woodgrain? Anyway the point is they're making goofy faces at each other and goofier rap hand poses and look like they're having the time of their lives. Our fly girls again. These screen grabs are blurry but the dancer who actually looks like Sarah Sherman is wearing a white furry hat and shiny metallic shirt. The one Ego Nwodim could pull off perfectly is wearing a poofy cap with a brim and long embroidered tunic. In the late 80s you wore everything at once or just spandex biker shorts and baggy top. Period. Fly girls multiplied by mirror special effects goofing behind Neneh Cherry. "State of mind, don't look behind you!"

As I was saying, Rumours (2024) about inept G7 leaders dealing with a global crisis is kinda brilliant. It teeters on the edge of being the kind of bat-shit bonkers that could've made it a genius-level horror comedy, but totally worth a watch - especially for Roy Dupuis as the PM of Canada 🇨🇦

Working on my taxes and this is what re-checking the math feels like

Farewell to one of greats, Gene Hackman. RIP 💔❤️
Gene as the corrupt romantic Avery in The Firm. One of my favourite Gene roles, here he sits as delightfully selfish Royal Tennenbaum, thick glasses, grey striped suit, pick collar, red tie. As Reverand Frank in The Poseidon Adventure, bedraggled and wet. There's fire in the background as he leans over Shelly Winters who I believe is dying in this scene. Like the poster says, they've been through upside down hell. Full on comic camp. Just as Christopher Reeve will always be Superman to me, Gene Hackman, here with is curly wig, wearing a green checkered suit, with yellow collar and flower in his lapel and a black and white ascot, will ALWAYS be my Lex Luthor.

It's the Queen of Hearts' castle in the distance. From Mary Poppins. Mary (in white frills with red details) and Burt (in straw hat and red in white striped jacket) are having a jolly holiday in a chalk drawing. The turtles giving them a lift across the lake slightly less so. From Sleeping Beauty. In the forest, Aurora as Briar Rose wears a simple peasant's dress and sings to four colourful birds on a high branch. Her hand is raised as if coaxing one to her finger. Never works for me. From Inside Out, left to right, Anger, Fear, Joy, Sadness, and Disgust stare out the large HQ window at the islands of Riley's personality.

A set of screenshots I thought really went well together. Upper left, UK Drag Race contestant Starlet. Her face looks like vintage Barbie and her outfit is pink and sparkly and tight as if Glinda the Good Witch was a Vegas showgirl. Her dramatic eye make-up gives her squinty eyes, which I noticed looked exactly like the eyes of the cute green snake pictured upper right.
