It’s pretty cool! Some local retirement homes participate and the older folks who are able get to write letters.

Kind of a combo of ham and tamales (for the Texas side of the family) but to my mind the most important dishes are “Rotel microwaved with Velveeta” and “crudite with ranch dip.”

My paternal grandmother was notorious for missing social context/rules. She ate the same thing every day. She also had an entire room dedicated to her obsessively catalogued mystery novel collection, and never read or talked about anything else.

To be fair the Music Autism is high masking if you can spread it out over multiple artists; then you’re just cool. But if you say, know everything about a very particular band it starts to show.

Oh yeah I have two LPs and a CD from some friends’ band, and they’re not touring/performing any more and you can’t get their stuff anymore, so if I didn’t have the physical media I’d never get to hear their music again.
