Students have been trained to provide results - things - rather than motivated to build skills. As such, chatGPT gives them an easy way to deliver. Students should use AI tools, but appropriately: to find references, to crunch data, to help them to find their own insights/innovations.

Interesting take. Yes much of AI is hype. But saying that students have no need to learn those skills may be short sighted. AI is a permanent change to the technology landscape. AI can't be seen as just an enemy by educators (even though students may be using it inappropriately).
