💯 It’s way too carefully constructed. Feels workshopped and tested. A bunch of consultants have just helped Britain slide further to the right and they’re patting themselves on the back for being clever.

I'd be surprised if Lam came up with this speech on her own. “Culturally coherent” sounds like a term a team of Tory HQ marketers, spin doctors and focus groups spent days crafting (up there with "take back control" & “legitimate concerns”) to socialise some new acceptable-in-public racist terms.

“Culturally coherent” sounds like a term a team of marketers, spin doctors and focus groups spent days crafting. Up there with “legitimate concerns”. And Katie Lam, with her refugee family giving her cover was chosen to deliver it. The cynicism, xenophobia and racism behind this makes me vomit.

Yeah, think that scene from "Raise the Titanic" (that came out 2 years later). That's what we wanted 😜Seriously, though, it didn't disappoint. The Blue Peter build up made it a magical experience.

I was 12 and had been avidly watching the Blue Peter coverage so on the day of the lifting my mum let me take the morning off school to watch the live TV coverage. Visiting Mary Rose in the museum a few years ago was a near-spiritual experience. (NB Mary Rose fans need to visit Vasa in Stockholm).

Bro missed “Remembrance of the Daleks” when Ace voiced her disgust at a guest house with a “No Blacks” sign shunning migrants? Likely complains the show is “too woke” now. Sylv and Sophie would be ashamed to be associated with you mate.

Great news! It's a lot of fun!

Brilliant show, loved it, and yes it did come together well. My wife was Sunny who was too shy to tell you that she was American but apparently not too shy to tell you her life story! 😆 Good luck with the tour!

Farage, depressingly is “box office”. I’m constantly bemoaning my wife listening to R4 Today who seem
to have him on daily because he causes “engagement” with people rage listening. It raises the profile of him & his party to the detriment of Libs/Greens who can’t get on to talk actual substance.

So you can unscramble an egg?! 😮

Oh wow, I didn't realise! Doctor Who and Blake's 7 alum also! I'd found a YouTube video that attributed it incorrectly to Jack Parnell! Well that explains a lot. Such a majestic theme for a show about a trucking company! I also remember Jean Anderson being wonderful in Tenko.

Strong memories of that theme tune, and watching it with my parents (my dad was a lorry driver so it resonated). Colin Baker was brilliantly nasty! I got to direct a voice over with Jean Anderson in the 90s and we chatted about The Brothers. She was thrilled I remembered her matriarch performance.

I remember watching the Hillsborough tragedy unfold on live TV. A horrible core childhood memory.
Yep, Mary Rose is quite incredible. But the Vasa in Stockholm (which has a similar story) is a true wonder of the world.

In Britain we have gentler childhood memories. Folks my age remember the moment in their childhood in 1982 when a 16th century Tudor ship was raised from the bottom of the sea. I personally skived off school to watch it. @maryrosemuseum.bsky.social

There’s always time to watch a little bit of the pud video.

What’s Bond shooting at? Zorin’s behind him…!

Nice. I used to get this a lot. Colour-alone is a poor differentiator, period. Someone else will want another colour for another reason. You just end up with a sea of colour, with no clear CTA.
I had a nice win the other week, & got the team to use the "active" wheelchair icon.

Agreed, despite being a sequel it’s not fair to compare them, but judging it purely on its own merits a it’s a really good film and doesn’t deserve to have been forgotten, which it seems to have been. Ooh that black spot scene is powerful stuff!

Wookiepedia credits it as a replica, I’d read elsewhere that as the original props were all famously destroyed by Kubrick that it may have been an 2010 prop.

I believe it’s from 2010 (a much underrated film).
