I was the same but switched to Pixels a few years back, tho total apple fanboy before and Mac evangelist still. Work surprisingly well and don't miss or care re the whole ecosystem thing

Absolutely but perhaps there are more imaginative solutions to the life experience than making people study away from home for 3 years? Our mindset is still rooted in C19th norms!

So isn't this the conversation that needs to be had? If affluent people want to pay for their kids to get a degree that won't improve their life chances let them, other courses can and should be more directly tied to workplace usefulness

That's really interesting hadn't considered data could come from unis themselves. surely this would both reduce inequality and increase revenues?

Yes! Why is this so difficult to implement? Means test everything, the data must exist in NI/tax codes? That way you could reduce fee differential for lower income families but increase it for the affluent
