I'm laying it out! I do non-RRD layout work occasionally, whenever I'm not snowed under by RRD books (as I am, right now, hence the delayed response!)

(though I'm also very fond of Urban Horror's "I can't believe it's not nWoD")

That's definitely one of my favorite spreads I've laid out in recent memory!

So I'm gonna keep poking at this until another layout job lands on my desk – next up, I'm gonna try and flesh out the core mechanics of reality-delving and hopefully get it into a playable state!

Most recently, I've been designing masks – the facets of reality you wrap yourself up in to protect your core truths from exposure to other realms. Kinda like warframes, if a warframe was a diving suit you wore to go dimension-hopping? Anyway, it's real fun to design reality-warping powers for them

It's particularly been fun working with the flexibility of the baker's Otherkind Dice system (lumpley.games/2022/03/14/o...) – Psi*Run is one of my all-time favorite games and I'm having a good time welding it to the Resistance System to allow for longer campaign play.

I'm having a lot of fun with this, no idea how long it'll be until I get something playable. For the moment I'm just enjoying finding out how many different things I can do with a book's spreads...

These concepts are Masks, Darkstar's main source of power. Maybe you unearth forgotten lore as the Talekeeper, talk to machines as the Wirerunner, or coordinate allies as the Colony Queen. Every one of your domain's masks can be worn by any PC, though each imposes its own laws on your realm.

You'll meet other domains out there, places whose reality clashes with your own and rewrite your existence as soon as you enter them. To conduct diplomacy, to steal resources, to add them to your own realm, you wrap yourself in a concept so primal it cannot be redefined.

This void isn't empty, though – folks who've read Voidheart know that the void holds everything that's unreal and imagined. Whatever you want to find, whatever you want to become, it's likely out there somewhere. Just pick a star to aim for, and start moving.

As exiles, you survived the end of all things by clinging onto a place that meant something to you all: your shared home, the library you all used, a park you cherished, a workplace you all hated. That's your home now, a Domain floating in the void.

Darkstar is a sequel the same way Voidheart Symphony was: an answer to 'What does the bad end look like?'

In Voidheart, Rhapsody's castle went from a single evil place you could point at to the very air you breathe. In Darkstar, the castle's greed broke reality, and now you cling to the wreckage
