Maryland’s state flag is a combination of Lord Baltimore’s flag, used by Union Marylanders, and the Crossland Banner, used by Confederate Marylanders. It is a gross reminder of the state’s willingness to welcome back traitors.

'Y'all' has been adopted in a lot of places--especially queer-friendly places--as an inclusive, gender-neutral term. I hear it often in NYC.

I've lived in NYC for 26 years and love it. I've enjoyed many cities I've visited. But if you want to understand what makes NYC so special: Go to Jackson Heights, Queens, where more than 160 languages are spoken every day. People, food, cultures from around the planet living together. ❤️🔥
