Got a new book! Very excited about the pattern drafting section and some of the projects.

Pumpkins were carved this weekend.

Ooh! I can participate! I’m working on some blue socks. Two at a time toe up WIP. First time trying an afterthought heel. Berroco Ultra Alpaca yarn. Can’t wait to get these on my feet!

PJ shorts I was working on yesterday. I love the colors and pattern of the fabric, but it was all I had left from another project (RIP Joann Fabrics). Cotton flannel. Pattern is from the Assembly Line (lots of ease). More detail in alt descriptions.

PJ shorts for my daughter. Fabric features skinny diagonal line segments in white, aqua, mustard, light pink, and dark pink. Elastic waist. Pulling forward the front waistband to show the inside of the shorts. The fabric edges are finished with red serger thread due to me not feeling like re-threading the serger. The tag is just a folded scrap of thin knit fabric in a dark fuchsia so my daughter can easily see which is the back side (and so the tag won’t be bothersome)

I always wondered how people sometimes sewed their finger with the sewing machine. Well, I’m still not exactly sure because I’m not sure what happened, but I’m grateful I have good reflexes. Yikes!

Welp, still needs buttons. Washed and dried. The lace stitches evened out in the process, however I still see the wrinkles on the front yoke part for on being stuffed in a bag for so long. That’s okay. It doesn’t fit me anyway three years later. But my daughter wants it. #knitsky

It’s washed and should be dry but I realized I never got buttons for it. My button stash only had 3 colors in the right size. A light-ish orange, black, and a dark-ish silver metal button (that says “Beverly Hills Polo Club” and has a person on a horse playing polo). Ugh.

Nearing the end! This will be my first time blocking a knit garment. I have knit plenty of things I didn’t block! Do you really need to pin it down or is shaping the wet garment and drying flat sufficient?

Cleaned up my studio and organized my yarn. Found a UFO and realized I just need to finish a sleeve and it’s done (plus buttons, washing and blocking). Stopped working on it about 3 years ago while preparing to move. I love this color! (But acrylic yarn)

Might I suggest a telescoping magnet? It has saved me many times from dropped or spilled sewing pins. I just sweep it around. The thwap of getting one (or many) is so satisfying!

I made The Assembly Line L:601 Pyjamas from this cotton flannel I was gifted from a buy-nothing group. They are very comfy! The only thing I might do differently next time is make the neck opening smaller, but for sleeping they are excellent (so I might not). Plus, pockets!

Some tulips from my walk today.
Bright red tulip open. I was really taken with the purply colors on the anthers. Purple open tulip. The inside of the petals at the center is black, outlined in white. The yellow anthers and stigma contrast against the black spots. Yello open tulip with vey pointy leaves and darker anthers.

Made myself an apron from some quilting cotton. Wanted something for carrying some smaller tools and things. The blue and green are from Joann and the pink was gifted to me from a buy nothing group.
