just a little piece of the chapter i’ve been able to do more writing on today

Beside Koushi, Daichi scoffed, which only made Shimizu even more curious. “What am I missing?” “Nothing,” Koushi and Daichi both said at the same time, with two very different tones. Where Koushi’s tone was evasive, Daichi only sounded annoyed. Knowing full well that neither Koushi nor Daichi would crack, Shimizu immediately turned her attention to Asahi. She didn’t repeat her question because she didn’t have to. All Shimizu did was stare at him—silently and unwavering—and Asahi folded like a deck of cards.

It just— With graduation soon, he’s been busy so we haven’t hung out in a couple of weeks.” “And you miss him?” “No,” Hajime said like a reflex, then he hesitated. “Maybe. I don’t know.” His mother poured out two glasses of orange juice and handed one across the counter to Hajime. There was a small smile forming at the corners of her lips. “You know, although Suga can’t make it to the get together”—she was very aware it was a party—“he might welcome a little check in.”

Don’t question the professional, but if you must know”—Koushi looked up to meet Iwaizumi’s stare—“I was seeing how the lighting showed up in a photo.” He set the phone, still unlocked with the camera on, to the side. Then he hooked his hands behind Iwaizumi’s knees and pulled him closer to the edge of the couch. He tugged the jeans down a little, showing more of Iwaizumi’s boxers and the clear hard-on that was fighting to be free. “Aren’t dick pics supposed to actually show my dick?” Iwaizumi asked. “Only if you want to scare someone away,” Koushi said while he messed with Iwaizumi’s shirt, having it fall in such a way that some of his v-line was just barely visible.

Matsukawa or Oikawa usually plan what we do, and I am sure there is something big planned since Oikawa is leaving in April.” “Where is he going?” “He’s headed to play volleyball abroad,” Iwaizumi replied. “How far abroad?” Iwaizumi didn’t answer the question right away, and Koushi wondered if he had asked too much. Maybe he wasn’t supposed to know, but eventually Iwaizumi folded his arms behind his head and continued. “Argentina far.” Koushi rolled over, resting his chin on his hands atop of Iwaizumi’s chest. “Are you going to miss him?” “It’s not like he’s dying,” Iwaizumi answered. “But he’s your best friend. You’ve grown up together. There is a picture of you two as little five year olds full of dirt with the biggest grins on your faces in your hallway.” “Exactly. No matter where he goes or how long it will be, we will see each other at some point. I’ll visit him, he’ll visit me. We’ll visit home. I don’t really see a point in missing him too much when I can’t get rid of the guy even if I tried.” Koushi narrowed his eyes at Iwaizumi. Maybe it was a thoughtful answer, but he also felt a little sad. If Iwaizumi wouldn’t miss Oikawa, would he even miss him? And why did it seem to matter to him so goddamn much?

Having lost, he was finding it hard to stay positive. There would be other chances for his team to go to nationals, but there was only one more chance for him. So Koushi was feeling a bit anxious, and so he wanted to be a little reckless. He wanted to do something that would in the grand scheme of his life be of no true consequence. Specifically, he wanted to do someone. At eighteen, he was ready to lose his virginity, and who better than one of the Seijoh heartthrobs. Well, they weren’t all heartthrobs. Matsukawa had more than a few whispers of the kinds of parties he ended up at on weekends, and the people he would hook up with, including a few from Karasuno if stories were to be believed. The pink-haired boy, Hanamaki if Suga remembered correctly, didn’t have any explicit stories, but he was featured enough that Suga thought he must have some experience as well. Then there was Oikawa who always had adoring fans following him around, so Suga assumed he fucked as well. And while any of them would be fine, the one he had fantasized the most about was Iwaizumi. He didn’t have as many stories as Matsukawa, but he had gained a bit of a reputation as a fuckboy. And if the stories were to be believe, Iwaizumi was the best fuck that made up for the fact he was sometimes as asshole.

“Iwaizumi-san, I—” Suga’s hand moved away from the door, and he turned back toward Hajime. “I do not do those kinds of things, regardless of what you might think due to my profession.” “I didn’t think you did, and I was not assuming anything in return for this ride,” Hajime clarified. “But a man can also hope.” He gave Suga a little smile so it would be clear he was joking a little, and Suga was completely free to leave. Suga was in control of whatever happened next. Suga paused, brows slightly furrowed, and inspected Hajime not saying a word. Maybe he hoped that Hajime would say something that would reveal a reason to just leave, but Hajime was a patient man. He knew that the longer he sat in silence, the more Suga would think about it. And, not that he was bragging, he also knew the effect he had on people. “Goodnight, Iwaizumi,” Suga said, dropping some formality, as he leaned in. A lesser man might have mistaken the move as an opening for a kiss, but not Hajime. He understood the intention. The gentle hand on his chest, the still unsure look in Suga’s eyes. Suga’s lips touched gently against Hajime’s cheek in a slow, calculative kiss. Then came the hesitation—the opening Hajime waited for. Suga didn’t pull away, not completely. His face turned toward the direction of Hajime’s mouth, Suga’s eyes unable to look away. Hajime brought his hand up to rest against Suga’s cheek. He let Suga be a little startled, and when Suga settled back into the touch, Hajime slid his hand to be a firm touch at the nape of Suga’s neck. The pressure he put against Suga’s skin was small, but enough for Suga to know his intentions. If Suga wanted, he would be able to pull away. He didn’t, and Hajime leaned in, watching Suga’s eyes begin to close.
