There are so many words which need to be said the way you and Rachel say them! Who uses “cognitive decline” ever? But “insane!” is the default expletive to respond to any given act, word, or thought by either Trump or Musk or their weapon of choice DOGE! They speak Orwellianese: why shouldn’t we?

Last night I messaged my kids that I was ready for “pushback,” A noun meaning what in my day (I’m Dylan’s age) was referred to as a “rumble”—politically speaking. Demonstrating? Picketing? First Amendment acting out? Words change, meaning doesn’t. Anyway, I’m ready.
