Folks understandably worry about the bigger payment on a 15-year loan, HOWEVER, a 30-year loan offers security in hard times but w/ the option of paying extra, & even 1 additional pmt/yr towards principal only, saves tons in interest.

If you have a mortgage & can afford ANY extra toward payments, SPECIFY on your invoice that the extra amount goes to PRINCIPAL ONLY and try to do that EARLY in the life of the loan when most of the amt is interest. Even a small amt can save tens of thousands or more on interest.
