(To be clear, I'm saying this was a good thing. It was incredibly meaningful to me.)

Last night we watched "Oy to the World," which is the worst "Hanukkah" movie Hallmark has put out in a while, and I hated the way they smashed the holidays together (in a way that really made it Christmas more than anything). But finding meaningful mixed celebration in interfaith families is good.

I'm a ger and my mom has a tradition that we all get an ornament as a present on Xmas Eve that represents something meaningful in our life from the past year. It was the one Xmas tradition I asked to keep. The year that I did my beit din, she got me a Magen David ornament with my Hebrew name on it.

I do think it would look a little better if it was following the same direction as the others. Looks great either way though!
