So about 6 weeks ago, I stood out in the rain and gifted a couple kids Mekons tickets. This week I had bought the cheapest seat in the house for two of my favorite songwriters, Steve Earle and Neil Young and in both cases I was upgraded to seats way out of my budget. Karma bucket is now empty.

I don’t know who was more surprised, me watching him leave the garage this morning when I backed the car out or him whenever he realized he got himself into a garage he couldn’t get out of. Now pleasantly napping on the neighbor’s garage.

I just witnessed this hound turn from a stationary standing position, go into a dead sprint and catch a rabbit on the run over 15 yards. Sneaky athletic. Also dropped it on command and the bunny took off to rethink eating under my bird feeder.

Last year I felt so bad for the bunnies with a terrible mother who decided to put them right in the middle of a yard with two Bumpus Hounds that I finagled a chicken wire barrier with one low opening the rabbits could use but the dogs could not.

Sometimes they’re so damn cute, you can’t shoose them off even when they’re getting too close to your new grass seed for comfort.
