Germany, France, and Spain are better off than the US but they aren't socialist countries, they're social democracies but underneath its still a capitalist economy. They still have private corporations. As a result, they are also degenerating. The economic hardship is growing the far right there.

I would like to add, its not just the US but every Western nation is struggling. The reason is that the ruling class is able to continuously reaffirm their power through our current economic system (capitalism) and has resisted any attempt to change the balance of power at home and globally.
