For context: I asked for greenery for my studio patio, preferably natives. My family is big into native gardening and redid our whole yard during the pandemic.
I got some potted succulents (not in succulent soil) and pansies. They’re nice, they’re just not what I asked for.

I think the deep earnestness of LotR is its great success - the Hobbit trilogy really lacks it (except at the very beginning), which is why it doesn’t work as well as the LotR trilogy.

I will second this recommendation! It’s my favorite fantasy story and a big comfort listen - they’re about six episodes from the end of the first book (i.e. a completed story) and it is just phenomenal storytelling.
