Perhaps better systems to sign post what's out there, my two tend to read lots of the same author which is fine but lack the confidence to choose something new and the options in book shops can feel overwhelming so they struggle to spot something they would enjoy.

Mulvaneys is good but quite hard hitting. Would definitely recommend but not as a light holiday read.
