I live in New Zealand but I'm with Canada and Mexico right now, and all US people who didn't vote for the orange menace
What a perfect rose. I made some like that for my daughter's wedding cake, and while I thought they were good, they can never be as good as the original.

A spring rose? I wait for the early winter ones in the southern hemisphere. Ragged beauties doing their best.

Now, that is how you wear a girl's blouse

These ragged beauties! I wait all summer for my roses to achieve that look.

It even looks filthy. What is he trying to prove? To be honest, I wouldn't want him defiling the waters where I live.

Found this on Instagram. He was a twin. What gorgeous, elegant creatures. The spottiest and most handsome angels!❤️❤️

What a nice thing your dad said! I don't have to go far to see natural beauty and it's good for the soul. I recently visited a bird sanctuary near Auckland and there are so many endangered birds flourishing there. I'm still buzzing from the experience. Attached are photos of a takahe and a kereru.

Any heron is beautiful, but this one is stunning. In New Zealand we have the matuku moana, the white faced heron. Feeling them fly by you is like feeling your own dreams take flight.

Brilliant shot. Seascapes are always better with clouds.

Yes I can, but you, Xenta and Ukraine are never far from my thoughts. L

What is this blue delight? My drink tonight was pink Canadian gin. A reminder of happy times in that lovely country.

Thank you. What a heart-warming connection this has been. For interest, here's Milly the first time I met her. She was terrified. It's a long story, but the 2nd photo is what I think of as Max's baby photo. I fell in love with that little white face.

Loving homes were found for his siblings, and Milly and Max are ours. It took 3 months before we could touch Milly, and now she's a smooch. Max is confident and friendly to everyone, but with my sick sister in law he excelled himself. What a guy.

What a gorgeous boy was your Max. I know the feeling well: a kitty shaped hole in your heart. I've got a Max too, and I'm trying so hard to enjoy his beautiful life.

Your sleep is a testament to your fortitude. Well done, Yara, and your wonderful air defence.
I'm sharing a photo from my weekend: my daughters took me on a boat trip to the Aldermen Islands, off the coast of New Zealand's Coromandel Peninsula.

Just look after yourself. Victory will be standing by to help you feel better. Here's a late summer rose for you.

I love these posts. They generate so much beautiful scenery. Here's mine, 3 mornings ago, from the deck of the Timber Trail Lodge in Piropiro, New Zealand. I did an 84k ride on a mountain bike trail over 2 days, and it nearly killed me, despite riding an e-bike. I loved every minute.

This is why I feed the stray cat who comes to my door. I can't stand to see an animal hungry and lonely. He was skeletal when we first met. Well done for rescuing Jeffrey.

You have such colourful birds! Our New Zealand birds are less so, but perfect in their own way.
On the weekend I went to see the kuaka (godwit) colony on the Firth of Thames. There were thousands of them, and tōrea (oyster catchers) too.

Hey. Tabbies are beautiful. This is Milly.
January 24, 2025 at 7:42 PM
Yes! Hard work and patience usually work in the end. My Milly let me pat her after 3 months, and now she's very tame. She's my darling.

Good morning from New Zealand, but of course it's night time here. What a serene, lovely painting. I went to the beach for the weekend, and the pohutukawa trees are blooming: our Christmas trees. The weather was divine.

Complete opp here. But still lovely and peaceful.

That's marvellous, Liz. With all the weird news around, I find myself increasingly focussed on people who care for animals, and of course, needy humans. There is a lot of good in the world. My rescue cats agree.

Hide and seek with toddlers is huge fun. My grandson is really bad at it. He couldn't find his auntie.
