Based on my experience, we have to educate our clients. Sometimes they are not familiar with formats and they might choose the least effective one when they write their drafts.

Thanks bringing this up. At work, all editors face this issue, when clients instead of deleting text, add more. Clients are afraid of communicating concisely because they think people understand a concept with lots of text, and this is not true. In fact, you risk losing your readers' interest.
