For different regions in my setting based on the religions/customs in a particular area. There's a LOT you can do to make a world pop, you just have to open your eyes to who and what is around you

Also you don't just have to make a character and go "this is my boring human character they are (ethnicity)" you can take inspiration from cultures and incorporate them in a fantasy setting (RESPECTFULLY). I have native american inspired harpies, russian working centaurs, different magic systems-

Not to mention getting to research cultures and clothing and hairstyles so you can more accurately portray their character it's so AAGHHHH 👹👹👹 so yes new artists don't waste your formative years drawing Conventionally Attractive White Person at 3/4ths Angle like I did learn while your brain is fresh

I can definitely say getting stuck in a rut of "it's just my style!" Is so detrimental to a learning artist. Drawing diverse characters is the easiest way to learn new skills. My rendering improved tenfold when I made more black characters because tbh black skin is SO MUCH easier to render well
