I'm not trying to sound aggro in my questions. I just don't think trying to apply "transexual" as a discretely defined category is helpful.

I think transgender is a sufficient category, and I think the way to be more specific beyond that is to simply describe specific needs when they apply.

can ear piercings be transexual?
can gendered haircuts be transexual?
is shaving my legs transexual?
lasering my legs?
electro?

what's the sexual function of my face, and how is it transed by ffs?

how permanent of a change to which aspects of a person's body make a person transexual?

if I want or need to communicate my medical needs or history, I will simply do so in specific terms

I gain nothing by having a generalized subcategory applied to me

we can't create a subcategory for each distinct possible aspect of transition, and the "sex" aspects are arbitrary anyway

As a label for a category, that's a hard pass from me.

I don't take issue with individuals labeling themselves with it.

But since it's a word with some slur-adjacent history that many of us have personal experience with, it definitely raises my hackles to see it categorically applied to me.
