As someone who desperately wants people on the moon, Mars and all over the system and galaxy, I hope we never see lights on the moon. Aesthetically and spiritually, it means too much to me and many people/cultures. A final reserve to at least LOOK pristine, even if the rest is covered with cities.

I think at this point it's splitting hairs, but depending on whose definitions of capitalism and race you use, the concept of race was older or contemporaneous to that of capitalism. People have been justifying brutalization and denying people rights based on race since the 1600s. Probably earlier.
