I am a retired educator. My career included teaching in rural Ark.; suburban schools in Plano, TX; colleges in Texas and Arkansas; Madison Fellow, USDE; Director with two regional offices of the College Board and SREB; and Head of Schools in three states.
I’ve studied and taught the American Presidency. The health of American presidents is fascinating. Most presidents kept their health issues quite secret. From Kennedy’s Addison disease to Wilson’s strokes, don’t believe what you hear. Trump’s health is tenuous.

Day after day, the reality that this administration is made up of the most unquestionably unqualified appointees in history becomes more self-evident. The lack of integrity, intelligence, professionalism, and sense of public service is astounding.

Recent events with the clown car of a Cabinet reminds me of teaching middle school students. I could count on exceptionally immature students to cave in with “absolutely true stories” for very long. They can’t keep secrets and they’re too impatient to tell their “friends” what really happened.

It is becoming increasingly clear that this administration will leave innumerable scandals, illegalities, unconstitutional actions, and the the least qualified and most inept appointees EVER. The damage done to our Republic is extensive and will have long-term consequences.

Fundamentally, Trump is providing Americans vivid, irrefutable lessons on the tenets of a democratic federal republic. His legacy is becoming more and more evident. He will be remembered as the most inept, mentally unstable, narcissistic, and existential threat to the constitution President.

“Today we stand in a moment that will decide whether our government belongs to the American people, or to those who prey on them.”

I’m very pleased with recent modifications to the SAT and ACT. The College Board led the way with important revisions with the length of the SAT. Many of the students I work with on test-prep ate unfairly treated with exams too long., especially the ACT. Hopefully more revisions are coming.

The Constitutional Law professors I have come to respect always emphasized the reality that our Republic’s Federal Constitutional Machinery was driven by a desire to be a machine that would go of itself. That is to say, our government has a design that provides a failsafe design to endure. Amen.

Finally, national awareness of the 50 year Republican strategy to negate the political impact of rapidly evolving demographic trends that enhanced racial, ethnic, religious, and cultural diversity. Effective gerrymandering, voting restrictions, and deceit led to favorable electoral viability.

The most significant question that I have is: can the Democrats do what is necessary to combat the distortion promulgated by the Republicans wring every possible advantage from the anachronistic Electoral College system of providing rural underpopulated states an electoral advantage.

It’s functionally a race, Drump’s deteriorating mental health versus time in office.

With the Supreme Court on the verge of striking down the Voting Rights Act, I think about Dan Rather’s book,The Camera Never Blinks. I also mourn the growing failures of journalism. The lack of transparency, focused examination of our Republic’s flaws does not bode well for our future.

The viewpoint from the metaphor ical balcony: The abject erosion of legislative power and integrity combined with a “gerrymandered” Supreme Court bereft of constitutional perspectives hangs over our republic like a west Texas thunderstorm.

“Who’s on first?” More evidence is coming to the surface that Trump is not actively aware of many key decisions being made in this administration.

I’m becoming more aware of the uncanny similarities between kids in high school that were not very popular and not invited to any parties and current MAGA devotees. This observation is coupled with the strong anti-intellectual bent at MAGA events.

Hopefully, Trump will not “speak” at the UN anymore and cut back dramatically on any foreign trips. His recent appearance at the General Assembly was a personal embarrassment and, as our “Head of State “, a sad and doddering elderly man.

Folks, don’t focus on Trump, focus on an effective set of actions that are “neutering” the congress and Supreme Court. Trump is a circus clown that distracts us from a small circle of decision makers who are dismantling our Constitutional Republic.

Let's also bookmark this moment because Trump loves to talk about how "nasty" the media is to him. This is an ass-kissing reporter literally asking him how he's doing after his friend was killed, and his vanity compelled him to pivot and talk about something having to do with him showing off.
Q: My condolences on the loss of your friend Charlie Kirk. How are you holding up?

TRUMP: I think very good. And by the way, right there you see all the trucks. They just started construction of the new ballroom for the White House, which is something they've been trying to get for about 150 years.
