tbh that’s why u gotta like, adjust ur expectations for outcomes based on the thing! If u know u don’t have a lot of practice with a certain art medium, you can set a goal/goals for what you do wanna achieve/practice, even if it’s small. Like for clay: I wanna learn how to texture,or how 2 make eyes

u should totally explore different art mediums then, like idk clay, or collage or maybe just abstract painting yk? Something out of the norm, that way you can calibrate and figure out what you definitely do like about art and what you don’t

I think life drawing is a good skill to learn but GOD most people who like art at all do not enjoy it bc wow it’s so boring. But it’s basically the biggest cheat code when it comes to learning the basics of lighting & shading

additionally, there are SO many forms of art. I draw sometimes and I like it but i especially enjoy working w my hands and creating like collages and textured stuff and 3D things the most. I wish everyone was able to explore all avenues of art and figure out what speaks to them the most

But you can still be an artist even without natural affinity obv. Anyone can. but sitting down and letting yourself make bad art will be everyone’s road block, and u just have to kind of figure out how to love the process even when it churns out ‘bad’ art

Also yea a lot of being an artist with a natural affinity for art is having this incessant //need// to create or else u feel like you’re going to die, and it’s what ends up fueling u through the hours of bad art you do end up making.

REALLLL I’ve been trying to sell a table for like a month now it’s $10 and this one lady lowballed me for $8 and we set up a time/place for pickup MULTIPLE TIMES and she just. Never came.
