vent has an enticing Fire Mojo prize, but ye gotta be quick

Time between blasts is randomized as to be cruelly unpredictable, but it's usually easy enough to just run across without getting burned, I failed for demonstration purposes x3

scene view of main island. Movement stops working if you try to move outside the blue box. Didnt know til I played with it but the material isnt visible from inside until you get up on the edge. Reasonable solution to represent level barrier until I cordon it off with scenery :3 #gamedev #solodev

VN-style branching dialogue system inspired by the now defunct Fungus asset. I dunno why the Fungus team purged their excellent tool, it was my fav D: Pretty sure you can still get it on github though I dunno how well it plays with newer Unity versions.

Radial interaction menu à la The Sims repositions interactions based on how many options are added, and each option can have sub-interactions. Its used for quick access to complex options, but one can also just approach & press the action key to trigger a default interaction.

It's not as user-friendly as it could be—I still have to go in the code and define the keys I want in a few spots, but Ill take this structure to any new projects I start. It was well worth the time even though I hated every bit of it. >:O Tedious work compared to making dudes stab each other.

I've included the ability to change keybinds in almost every game I've made, even lil jam games, but recently I set out to make THE LAST KEYBINDING SOLUTION I WILL EVER MAKE! The menu you see here is populated dynamically based on keybinds listed in a script.

Aegir introduces the player to household mechanics, special interactions for NPCs that live with you. You can select and command them like sims. Eventually there may be limits on this based schedule/relationship level, but for now its simply complete control. Selection visual is a work in progress 😅

Aegir, big guy on the right, is her father, with whom she lives on the island of Krait. He shares her skin & hair material so theyll change based on whats chosen during character creation.

Left is Roman, aspiring sheriff of Rumrunner's Rest.

For the joy of watching celestial bodies travel the sky, the sun & moon are spheres rotating around a point at a speed relative to the length of the day. Moon stays opposite of the sun, sun stays above ground during day. Not super realistic but satisfying enough for my purposes!

Day/night cycle in Fishionista is one of the features I've worked on longest, repurposed from previous prototypes. Older versions blended between post-processing stacks for the visuals, but this version simply lerps between colors for the lights, skybox, and fog.

I've long used addons to escape Unity's animation system for 2D, but I thought I'd make one more suited to my wants. This one lets you drag in frames, set FPS, shows a preview, and lets you set per-frame events. I am simply not bound by the laws of mortal Unity men! >:O #gamedev
