I would never consider myself a master of any TTRPG, BUT I’ve probably made the most theoretical Lancer builds of my group and I have felt the caution of “don’t try to be too optimal or restrict yourself to optimal”

I've heard you talk about and laud some praise onto GURPS (which I still have to read about), but I haven't heard of Fantasy Craft. As a Local Martial Enjoyer and dedicated martial player (Lancer has not escaped this). I'll need to give it a peek sometime.

As someone literally planning and making a Lancer one-shot encounter (first time GM’ing), it’s a weird experience realizing my biggest struggle is solving the “puzzle” of making the encounter engaging and enjoyable for my PC’s.
