I was proud to stand with educators in Ewa Beach, HI and around the country today in support of public education.
Everything feels so heavy right now, but the energy of these teachers filled my cup. Teachers - get active in your union. We are stronger together!

Today, the White House announced the winners of the #PAEMST awards.

Celebrated the World Cup Final by finally putting the WC Lego set together. We may have no idea where the next Women’s World Cup will be played (thx FIFA 🙄) but we get Olympic soccer next year.

Before flying home, I stopped by the Pulse Memorial to pay tribute, leave a lei & a poster from our NEA RA.
One of the memorial’s caretakers gave me a ‘49’ pin and told me that she was one of the Pulse bartenders. “I can’t pour them drinks anymore she said, but I can take care of their memories.”

At the dinner, author/activist & Pulse survivor Brandon J. Wolf was honored. He spoke passionately about why we must fight unjust laws, and “say gay.” Wolf lost his friend Drew on the Pulse dance floor when 110 rounds were sprayed around the club at 2:08am, killing 49 in 2016.
