The mental gymnastics they're doing to see that orange 🍆🥔 as a viable candidate for anything is staggering. It would be impressive if it wasn't so damn sad.
Low-income Americans who voted for Trump say they are counting on him to keep their benefits intact even while his Cabinet picks and Republican lawmakers call on him to reduce federal spending.

“We helped get you in office; please take care of us,” Pa. resident Lori Mosura said. wapo.st/41OV9rU
After backing Trump, low-income voters hope he doesn’t slash their benefits
Voters in the struggling Pennsylvania city of New Castle backed Donald Trump hoping he’d curb inflation. But he’ll be under pressure to cut federal spending.

Question for all the American dudes who get irrationally upset about drag queens "being inappropriate" in public. What did the cheerleaders at the last football game you attended look like? How old were they? How old are you? Do you go to Hooters after church?

Okay, some religious people get insights like having the holy ghost pass through them, a sacred wind, a guiding light, right? What do us nonbelievers get? Because all I've got thus far is a drafty bitch that gets me in trouble with HR.

"One of the great tragedies of mankind is that morality has been hijacked by religion. So now people assume that religion and morality have a necessary connection. But the basis of morality is really very simple and doesn't require religion at all."

Sometimes I think about being safe and comfortable while so many peoole are suffering. I will always be furious that the world is run by such shitty people that can't seem to allow everyone to be safe and comfortable alongside me. War, genocide, trafficking, bigotry, wage theft, it's all shit.

Russian in Belgrade - Coca Cola refugee lol

Russian that only decide to flee after their luxury goods dry up don’t deserve any sympathy. If they were fleeing because of moral reasons they would have come 3 years ago in February. Send them back! Go get Putin instead of coming here.

Me: I will just relax for a few minutes by playing a mindless game on my phone

Phone: Cool, every 90 seconds you will just need to watch a little animated snuff film featuring a mother and child freezing to death, or a king slowly being crushed against a spiky wall by piles of falling rubble

From what I've gathered form observing other people talk about their fictional friends: a god needs to be powerful, awful, capricious, irreverent, unconcerned with the daily grind of man, undisputed, and dauntless. If you're gonna have a fictional buddy, make it a good one. I propose: Yujiro Hanma.

Demanding a code of dress as a form of respect without providing the clothes demanded is already classist, Trump demanding this form respect from the president of a country which war effort Trump has actively undermined is outright vile.
What a turd. Trump really has nerves. He demand respect? Respect for what exactly? Colluding with Russia?

I feel like it's weird how some superstition is referred to as either superstition or mythology, while other stuff of the same ilk has the honor of being referred to as religion. Like, what's the deciding factor? Is it based on having a fancy building? The 'it' fashion for ordained practitioners?

The fact that a whole bunch of people have a fantasy friend that said "Eyo, dude, kill your son if you believe in me" and right before the son became a was the fantasy friend went "lmao, sike! It's not that deep." lives rent free in my head.

I really don't think the trope of "the noble poor" exists nearly as much as history would like, if at all. I think it's a lie priviliged people have forged to save face when less fortunate people reject their gifts, afraid of the strings attached.
