Used? Go wild. I mean, not actually wild. No brett pls.

But I love me some LdH Tondonia Rosato, for sure. And that's a tad longer than 3 months in old wood.

But this? ⬇️ GTF outta here.

It has always seemed to me they only ferment/raise in new/2nd oak to justify the price they want to sell it at.

A year ago, anticipating there would soon be higher prices for everything and knowing an economic shit show was possible, I swore off my occasional WineBid purchase habit.

Today that promise is being sorely tested.

Huh. Honestly I thought France and French-speaking countries (Belgium, Luxembourg) were the only ones allowed to use Crémant.

I was wrong.

Though I believe this is the first example in Italy…

Ok ok. So my memory exaggerated it a bit.

Probably because I was so shocked a professional visit would be so much more than a normal visit, which starts at 58.

I know Bodegas Tradicion is a bit over the top. But this price is also insane.

Good evening, Avila!

PS this place is beautiful, but tourist hell. Thinking I’m not putting it on my return visit list….

Fair. Though interesting point. Wouldn't that technically be Marc? Is that allowed for VDN production? The cahier for Banyuls, at least, doesn't specify. Now I need to know where most producers source their fortification spirit from.... 🧐. #winegeek

This (and also the people!) is why I keep showing up to volunteer at Texsom.

Tried these blind. There’s nothing like a 20 year old Vat 1. This is maybe the only wine I can blind taste and know what it is after one sip. And it’s amazingly delicious.

Only the second time trying Wendouree. Awesome.

Opened up a couple bottles of Pinotage yesterday and tasted partially blind, look for style and/or regional differences.

I only disliked one of these wines. (Hint: it was the one with no added sulfur)
