taking care of how you use social media can honestly be just as important to your ability to socialize as knowing what to say. if you keep using apps that are filled with angry and hostile people then it'll warp your perception of how normal people will react to you.

Having a place to start makes things a lot easier. Example, I could message you saying that I like sonic too or use a stupid gif to help break the ice.

muting/blocking honestly does nothing on twitter. i still saw literally everything happening around a blocked user as well as constant prompts to unblock them if i want context.
if you block someone here and mute effectively then you can get rid of toxicity extremely well.
