Consumers are still buying them up unfortunately. DQ 1+2 Remake made the bulk of its sales on the Physical Switch 2 release(in the UK and Japan at least). Doesn't seem to be effecting them much. Plus every fan who doesn't want to support the Switch 2 version are still buying it on other platforms.
