Indeed, but in some cases impractical. My partner works in London. She can walk to the station. Lizzy Line has also improved her journey. For me, though there aren't really any feasible ways to do anything with public transport that are anything like cost effective

They had so few slivers of evidence to go on, but still managed to avoid all of them. (IE zero discussions about what possible weird things happened for the face to face murders)

If the first target is 20 million sales then he's possibly screwed before he gets started.

To be fair, that looks sensible. Tesla needs some magic or it could get swamped. They're betting on Musk supplying that magic, and if he can't, they dont lose anything, (except share value of course😅)

Hmm, for me, getting to work on public transport would require 2 buses, 2 trains and 2 walks and would take nearly 3 times as long 😅

I want to see the definition of Robotaxi for the purposes of this.
November 6, 2025 at 10:28 PM
that was where I was going with the point about drivers not being able to estimate what their costs were, though I guess if the car already tracks your routes and times, then it's a short jump to "your current driving tax for 25/26 is £xxx" and "alternative route is 1 min longer and 10p cheaper"
November 6, 2025 at 12:29 PM
Would avoid the extra complexity of congestion charging and tolls though, and most (all?) cars sold today already have the relevant data, but how you get that data to a 'you owe £xxx for last year' document *and* how people can estimate what they're going to owe are 2 questions I have no idea about!

Taxing via MOT mileage wouldn't allow us to tax more for specific roads and times of the day (rush hour)

So wouldn't give the govt the ability to try to make road use more efficient.

(Caveat; I don't honestly know whether there's any point in trying to do it, but it *seems* like there might be)

yeah, impossible to put yourself in his position really. And we don't know what floats his boat. If he likes 100% subservience and no-one questioning anything he says, then so what if his latest pipe dream doesn't come off, it was fun talking about it, and there'll be another one along soon

Maybe itelligent but somehow lacks the ability /skill to ask for the opinion of people who may be less intelligent but have more knowledge about a specific subject.

That or he's an idiot who just been conned out of millions of 'consultation' fees.

And then the absolute cherry on the top, secure a debt on it from one of their other companies so they scrape up the final few quid from it.

So I'd applaud their cheek, and then just stick them in jail. Just for the fun of it.

He didn't really reference Andrew, his 'empathy' was towards Andrew's family.

Is Harriman-Annous available for CL games?
November 4, 2025 at 7:32 AM
I think you have the wrong date for the Everton game. Says 23rd, should be 21st.

Yes, thats my point. He cant do that if Ukraine is either in EU / NATO or properly neutral.
November 3, 2025 at 4:13 PM
Indeed, we're not even at defcon 2.

Russia is very tempted by acts of sabotage and cyber attacks on NATO countries but has shown no evidence of being tempted to indulge in 'propa' war. IE it treats us as a form of enemy but not one it can exert more than minimal levels of force on.
November 3, 2025 at 3:42 PM
Exactly. Anything that prevents that is bad.
November 3, 2025 at 3:18 PM
My view on Ukraine, is that Putin wasn't worried about it joining NATO / EU per se, other than by doing so it meant Russian influence couldn't be heavily exerted. IE he doesnt want Ukraine in the EU just as he doesnt want an entirely neutral Ukraine.

>> to Russia and then post a certain point in the 2000s, probably due to the economic benefits of not doing so, didn't reapply that foot.
November 3, 2025 at 3:13 PM
And im pointing out that the alternative policy could have been much worse.

And, no we *cant* see that this is a disaster because NATO countries have seen a long period of peace under its umbrella.

What I would say is that post 1990 NATO (rightly) took it's foot off the gas with regards >>
November 3, 2025 at 3:12 PM
You're assuming the alternative wouldn't be worse though. Imagine Western Europe full of countries without the security guarantees given to them by NATO. What path would they have followed to guarantee their own safety? The issue isn't NATO, the issue is the world that NATO finds itself in.
