Yeah definitely hard to feel connected when you can’t speak the language very well 😭 I picked up my grandparents and my great-grandparents’ recipes at least so that helps me

I really wish my grandparents had spoken more Cajun French around me when I was a kid. Sadly I’m not fluent, understand more than I know how to speak, and only really know select words.

Also if you saw this post twice, no you didn’t.

+ kids in my community were told professors in college would fail us just based on our accent. And it was true in some colleges even through the 2000s. Our accents were “wrong” and made us seem “stupid.” It’s also why rarely anyone in my generation knows how to speak Cajun French.

I decided recently to make Milan more emotional overall up through Endwalker and imagining my 7 ft tall beefy elezen man almost crying because he saw a kitten so cute makes me smile and giggle every time.
