My late dad was in the military and had a low opinion of Paras - he described them as "thugs" based on experience long before Bloody Sunday. A senior Para later admitted to him that the Paras were out of control that day.

Met him in Dublin doing a little gig in Whelans about a year before he died, just him on keyboards/vocals and a bassman. Lots of anecdotes from his amazing career. Talked afterwards and got an autographed CD. Lovely guy.
