Our Northumbrian digs has tons of old DVDs and tonight’s viewing is this absolute classic. It must be 30 years since I’ve seen it and Mrs DemonSamurai has NEVER SEEN IT!!

Half term holiday at Beadnell in Northumbria and I found this book in the digs and am enjoying it a lot. Plenty about the martial & raiding tradition of the NE ‘Borderlands’ in the first 1/4 of the book. Think I’ll be buying it to finish when we return home tomorrow.

Visit to Lindisfarne today, & I’ve learnt that 140-160 people live on the island full time. It def has a Cthulhu Cult vibe about it, with plenty of locations for decaying jetties. The locals all looked totally normal, which is of course, suspicious as hell.

Today’s obsession is Northumbrian font. The style isn’t a million miles away from the way I write anyway.

2 and half hours of Conan D20 character generation for 5 players last night at a mini CottageCon in memory of our recently departed friend, oh my god its crunchy! Looking forward to bringing it to the table later this morning. On a side note, I'm pretty happy with how my arms look in this photo.

Who is your favourite ancient god? I’ve thought about today and I think it’s probably Odin. The message of making a sacrifice of one eye to gain ultimate wisdom resonates. It’s either him or the god of tits & wine, Dionysus - but I’m pretty sedate in my appetite for excess these days.

Getting all excited about a Game of Thrones style backdrop to an OSE campaign set in the Grand Duchy of Karameikos. After the Shrine of Kollchap we'll head into Nights Dark terror, and then a major rewrite of Keep on The Borderlands, with all sorts of political shenanigans and existential threat.

We are watching The Diplomat on netflix atm and enjoying it a lot. Keri Russell is perfect as the stressed, slightly awkward Kate Wyler. One thing is perhaps unbelievable though, the politicians all seem incredibly bright and competent when in reality they are mostly all clever grifters
