Have to say @ns.nl / @nsinternational.com knock it out of the park with branded merchandise! Their Rotterdam popup today was busy and they’ve got some great accessibly priced items…. It’s something I’d really like to see GBR/the NRM make more of with reasonably priced double arrow merch back home.

@deutschebahn.com Hallo! I have noticed a bug on the live running info within iceportal.de - it's using local time from my device rather than overriding to the German timezone. ICE109 arrives Duisburg 14:11 for example :-) Please let me know if there's a better point of contact.

It’s a really interesting tour; I went on one a few years ago. Would highly recommend!

So. Prague to London in a day ✅… a 3-train, 17 hour trek across Europe! Started tracking along the Elbe at 0628 and pulled into St Pancras bang on time at 2157. #trainsnotplanes

My journeys back from NL to the UK are never easy, always seem to choose days of peak disruption 😅 Still, allows me time to admire this stonework NS logo outside Zuid whilst sat at a red signal! Looks like we’re hoping the 20:56 E* still has space…

Good afternoon from the ‘Max Express’! By a long way the most public transport-friendly GP and a huge logistical exercise. Trains run from Amsterdam to the circuit and back every 5 minutes all weekend. Extremely well run by NS, under 15 minutes from start of queue to being on our way to Zandvoort!

Good afternoon from the ‘Max Express’! By a long way the most public transport-friendly GP and a huge logistical exercise. Trains run from Amsterdam to the circuit and back every 5 minutes all weekend. Extremely well run by NS, under 15 minutes from start of queue to being on our way to Zandvoort!

Was great to be in the room for @troyhunt.com’s talk last night - well worth a watch, but sadly the YouTube recording doesn’t come with the very cool 3D printed logo swag… seriously though - go watch, he’s a great speaker and security of your personal data is such an important topic…

There’s still something I find almost magical about #CrossBorderRail - a fleeting glimpse of a silver box is the only clue our 0800 #Enterprise from Belfast to Dublin has just crossed from Northern Ireland into Ireland.

4 photos doesn’t do it justice but 10/10 would recommend the Dutch #Spoorwegmuseum (railway museum) in Utrecht… would put it almost on a par with the fantastic @railwaymuseum.bsky.social (love that you can arrive directly by train too!)

Today I finally (and very impromptu-ly!) try out the new EuroCity Direct service between Brussels & the Netherlands! I’ve travelled on the domestic-spec ICNG but these international ones are longer w/ a better layout. Thalys-esque calling pattern and only a few mins slower @seatsixtyone.bsky.social
Really enjoyed my few days away in the Swiss/Austrian Alps to use up some expiring #Interrail days. Innsbruck (Austria) and Mürren (Switzerland) particularly impressed, and Munich was an excellent base on a budget. Highlight was discovering Innsbruck, stunning place & will stay longer next time!

Well that was a pleasant surprise! Picked up by a SBB Giruna set rather than the expected Pendolino….. first time on board one and it’s very plush inside! And of course it has a @diningcar.at !

This is probably my favourite airline style train seat design anywhere in Europe… comfortable seat, large adjustable table plus phone and drinks holders.

Speaking of Dutch infra…. We’re currently speeding (or should that be Sprinting…) towards the city in the middle of a dual carriageway - not something you see in the UK!

Good morning from Hoofddorp! Today I’m off on adventures but first we’ve got an ICE to catch…. As I wrote this am taking a moment to admire Dutch infrastructure with a segregated bus lane with ‘platforms’ alongside the station, not atypical in NL!
