wow, haven't seen this in years.

One of my co-workers said to tone down the accel. I set it from 5000mm/s to 3000mm/s and it did not fix. Watching it, I think if I kept lowering the accel, i'd be where I am now. Stealth mode is significantly slower, usually I can hear when it moves real fast while NOT laying down filament.

I've had it for almost exactly a year and have over 1500 hours printing, and its been perfect until recently. I put it in stealth mode and so far, no issues. It is a machine so I expect issues but I also expect prusa to know their machines enough to troubleshoot. Well, at least I'm closer to fix

YOU ROCK! I'm in the same boat now. Stealth mode is working - (knock wood)
If I or prusa figures it out, I'll hit you up.

Thanx bra

the only overture i use is their TPU. never had an issue there.
October 25, 2025 at 12:04 AM
oh, wait, I misread, you want it in stealth mode...
October 24, 2025 at 4:46 PM
Gonna try swapping the sd card and re-tensioning the belt.
October 24, 2025 at 4:45 PM
I'ver tested with 3 heads so far, same on all.
October 24, 2025 at 4:44 PM
Stealth mode is already off. Thanx tho, appreciate the poSsible solutions.
October 24, 2025 at 4:44 PM
Been in talks with them. I'll test a diff card.

LOL - you like a challenge. If I remember correctly, they are kits? I did the mk3s+ as a kit and the XL was partial kit. Sounds like you like to tinker.

I also have a Prusa XL, there are 2 screws for belt tension. It's very easy.

Are you looking at the Prusa Core, Bambu or something else?
October 24, 2025 at 7:36 AM
The core xy's footprint is jsut the size of the printer, you need to consider the bed moving past the footprint. (that's just a small detail).

Curious what you are using?
October 24, 2025 at 7:31 AM
I'm not sure I agree with the comparison. Anyway you look at it, there's movement in all 3 directions. Is a corexy more complicated, maybe a bit, but, as far a the print head, one runs x/y and the other runs x/z. Core's are typically enclosed so heat stays inside the printer. /1

I use sunlu. No issues
October 24, 2025 at 6:04 AM
Hey there, I have a couple of printers, one being the X1C. I've had bed slingers and prefer the corexy's.

The P1S is similar to my X1C, imho, I'd go with the P1S.

There's a bunch of replies here, bottom line:
Do you want to print out of the box? - Bambu
Do you want to tinker with the printer and print? - Prusa
I have a Prusa XL and Bambu X1C. couldn't be happier. it going to come done to those questions and your budget. /1

sorry for the typos:
"it's going to come down to those questions and your budget."
October 24, 2025 at 3:10 AM
I've had 2 bed slingers, Anker m5 - crap, prusa mk3s - workhorse but slow. IMHO, core xy's are better.

As yes, some filament is toxic, the more popular version is plant based.

"Polylactic acid (PLA) is a biodegradable thermoplastic derived from renewable biomass sources such as corn starch, sugarcane, cassava, or sugar beet pulp."
October 22, 2025 at 10:17 PM
I was having similar issues and used glue stick or hair spray. Now, I got beds from @sliceworx.com
They work flawlessly.
October 22, 2025 at 9:11 AM
From what I understand, 4d printing is just 3d printing with filament that morphs under certain conditions. (hot water for example)
